Being sick

Here I am at home, sick when I should be at school doing my other subjects. Skipped OM yesterday to go see the Doc' at Clementi Polyclinic. I forgot to tell her of my exposure to mosquitoes so I'm not sure if she considered the possibility of Dengue. Oh wait, just checked symptoms of Dengue. She asked me for joint pains which I don't, so I should be a tad fine. Besides, if I still have my 38 degrees fever by Friday I need to check with the Doc' again, so I hope I'm fine by then. Besides, I need to go for OM.

The medicine I have seems to be working somewhat. My mucus decreased by my phlegm didn't. I guess this is 'coz I already had so much phlegm inside my throat in the first place.

Would blog more, but my head isn't working too well right now. Sorryz! Cyaz.

OM

OM is seriously getting stressful now. Yes, it is indeed ironic that I of all people are saying this instead of anyone else in the group, since I after all really made the least contributions on my own. What I did do, however, was help out here and there giving help to anyone who needs it, or running little errands like taking props here and there. I suppose I'm the type who's both a leader and a follower at the same time, eh.

Interestingly, I have the least contributions in the group, but I get shouted at less often by Henry than for people like Gid >_> Then again, like I said last year, it's the leader-follower thing. Both of them made contributions to the team. But the problem? Both are loggerheads. >_>

The one single time I did more than either of them was when I was cleaning up while both of them were arguing about who contributed more to the team. Whatever the case, I contributed less than them. Tell me, what have I contributed? o_O Well, I guess it's the thought that counts >_> Why can't we just be fwiends? =)

Ms. Loh doesn't want me to use that tricoloured dress-like garb with two strings of cloth tied to my hands for Spring. I hope I get to wear a dress instead of what she has in store for me, because what she has in store for me can't be anything good. It's most likely something overly revealing like Henry's miniskirt >_>

Speaking of Henry's miniskirt. Now Henry has to go about being the evil queen instead of the evil king in the last scene. And he has to act ultra-girl stereotypish, like looking at his nails, walking like on the catwalk, etc.

Henry: *Does a flirtatious look at me, winks.*
Herrick: *Collapses in agony and psychological damage.*
Kin Ming and Kevin Low: Henry! Remember that you are still male!!!!!
Henry *In a high pitched voice*: Is that so?
Kin Ming and Kevin Low: *Collapses in agony and psychological damage*
All 3 of us: Ma'am... get Henry to stop being so girlish...
Ms.Loh: He's just being 'in character'.
Henry: *winks again*
3 of us: Urghhhhhhhh...........

To think that for OM we'll have to stay till 9 each day and Henry's going to act like that all 6 days *Tomorrow included*. This. Will. Be. A. VERY. Looooooooooooooong. Week. Sigh.

*Will never look at Henry and Josh the same way again*

----------------------------

Shaman King is interesting. Especially since Amidamaru (http://www.ponju.com/External/amidamaru.jpg) and Yoh ( http://www.digital-shadows.de/images/reviews/sham/shamanyou.jpg) act exactly the same. Just look at them, dangit.

Last Exile is also rather interesting, but I already knew that. Dio is scary, but he has the best line ever I've heard.

"Vanship #5, Report Current Status."
"Wakaranai! =)"

G-SEED Destiny is cool. Freedom Mk.II! Justice Mk.II! Destiny Gundam! Destroy Gundam... urgh. >_> Don't wanna talk about it.

---------------------------------

Life is at a standstill. Normal. Everything. Far too normal. I would continue. However this style of writing is just plain hard to do correctly. SO I SHALL STOP! Muahaha.

No random stuff to write on apart from the above, so ta ta!

*Note: I will not post for the entire next week until Friday because of OM. *sigh**

IB

Sorry I didn't post. Yester-yesterday I was feeling EXTREMELY angsty (Yes, so unlike me.). I woulda posted an angsty post, but I switched off the com anyways. What it was about? I shan't tell you, because I felt perfectly normal the next morning >_>

Anyway.

OM is getting to its climax point now. All of us have put in our effort *Cash is a different matter >_>* and after some statistics changing of Henry's $60 used on 2m cloth into $3 (The price Gid, Ms.Loh and I managed to get) for 2m, we have $150 used up from a $200-250 budget (Change from US, so I'm not sure). Anyway. We've all done much in each little aspect. But Ms.Dharma says we can jazz it up some more. So WE WILL! Muahaha.

Went for the IB talk. Everything there seemed pretty hard, ESPECIALLY ToK AND PoD. Then again, that's what happens when you deal in philosophy. Worst thing is that we have to pass that or we won't get the diploma. Anyway. I wonder whether I'll be able to get in. If I don't that's a REALLY bad sign. I hope I get in. I already can skip the psychoanalysis test anyway since I'm in the GEP. And I pay $12 per month while others pay $300+ per month because I'm on the GEP scholarship =)

I wonder what subjects I'll take in IB, though. There's only 6 choosable subjects, ToK, 3rd lang, and if I'm not wrong CASL. That's 9. Well, I think by then I should be able to take it.

Kiddy Grade has ended. The 2nd last episode was really sad. I was sniffing a bit. But that was the front part of the story the part after that was rather heartwarming. And I don't put on a cold front when I'm watching anime >_> It's interesting how both Eclair and Dverg act in nearly the same way when it came to their children. It's... touching, I guess.

Shaman King comes after Kiddy Grade. 1st Ep: Interesting. Amidamaru in the ED looks very weird though. >_>

Homework is stressing me rather badly, since I HAVE TO DO WELL OR I WON'T GET INTO IB. And especially since I had a mere B3 average of 65 when Jar and Gid both had 68. I must definitely do better on my Lsc and Geog. And my English and my Chinese.

Zhang was feeling really sad because he got 6th in class (without counting 3rd lang. 3rd lang included, he's 2nd.). I got, I dunno, 10-15th? That's around the average I guess. I was really annoyed at him for being sad for getting an A1 grade. I mean, if he's annoyed for getting an A1 grade, what should I be? Crying on the floor begging for forgiveness? Please. I don't understand angst that goes on really long. Actually, I do, because I just got a taste of it. And I will admit it nearly drove me mad. Well, I survived. =)

I'm still addicted to Destiny by Nami Tamaki. Pity I don't understand the lyrics.=(

Destiny

I feel rather down for some reason. I suppose it was talking with Wensi about the fate of the GEP student. I don't know, whatever I said in that conversation was completely true, and nothing contraband, but I'm lazy so I won't bother putting it up here.

I for one take 10 subjects. I know Zhang and Mike take 10 too. Eng, Lit, Chi, Math, Psc, Lsc, Geog, Hist, Art, Jap. See? 10.

Next year? It's even worse! =)

Eng and Lit form Language Arts.
Chi.
C-Math (It's the norm)
Physics and Chemistry instead of Bio
Geog stays
Hist goes
Art goes
Jap stays
Philosophy of Discipline joins
Computer Studies joins
That's 9 now, but they're all higher level. *sigh*

And if I wanna become Staff Sergeant for SJAB (I've given up SoH >_>) that means I can't take OM next year or I'll waste too much time on it. Btw, Sergeant Fate, if I join FAC when I'm S3 that means I can't be ASM or CSM, right (Since FAC is a requirement for ASM/CSM)? Aah, CSM goes to John Ang naturally. What I'm not fine with is Ezra becoming ASM, because >_>

Then there's the UYO. That definitely takes time and commitment, any way you look at it. Band? Yes. NCC? Yes. NPCC? Yes. NCDCC? Yes. Military Bagpipe Band? No >_> BB? Yes. Scouts? Yes. SJAB? Obviously yes because it's not a Military Bagpipe Band >_>

Then there's other CCA commitments to meet up to. Isaac has Rugby. That's darn tough. Josh is in Soccer. So's Hen. Just as tough. Jun Yi's in Cross-Country. Lots of training. Gid's in Water Polo. That's alot of training too. Me? I'm in Library >_>

Then there's competitions. I've OM. That takes up time. Lots of it. Just as much as UYO. Obviously more fun than UYO, but it takes up time. PRECIOUS TIME!!!! Nevermind >_>

Then there's the thing that only GEPs get: Discrimination. We're GEPs, we're stereotyped, we're hated, we're disliked, we're nerdy to their eyes, we're studious losers, we're pathetic at everything apart from studies to them, we're really discriminated. T_T

Ok, that was somewhat exaggerated. But you get the point. The mainstream teachers don't help the situation any, since they're on the mainstream side. The GEP teachers don't help either, since we're GEPs and this is part of the deal. Low school fees, enriched learning for utter discrimination. Nice deal, eh. =
The GEP is the envy of students because they're all geniuses, and the Normal Technical is the laughingstock of all students for the exact opposite reasons. It is instead the middle which receives the least amount of stress. The GEP have expectations to make and discrimination to deal with. Normal Technical has exactly the same thing. We're no different in reality. Sad truth, huh.

If we want to destroy the stereotype of GEPpers, it's impossible. Stereotypes aren't destroyed, they're subverted. And more subverted. And ignored.

What do we do to deal against the discrimination? We make fun of the mainstream. We leech off their weaknesses. We make parodies and we sing them. Kev made a really nice Anti-ACSI parody to the tune of Under the Sea. *We don't focus on the mainstream, we focus on the evil that is Dr. Ong and 118.* Why? Because we can. Because we know we're capable of such stuff. Because.

There's another way to take. Denial.

"A name indicates the existence of a thing. If, in fact, that name is false... If that is false, then it would mean that the very existence of that thing is false, wouldn't it?" Gilbert Durandal (I prefer Durandal to Dullindal. G-SEED Destiny. All quotes today are from G-SEED/Destiny, btw.)

This was the path Jeremy Teo took. He's happy since he picked the perfect time to change to the mainstream (Primary School-Secondary School Transition). And I will admit he would have had problems if he decided to stay in.

We can't take this path. We aren't false people. We've gone too far to just turn back and say "I'm not a GEP". That's shirking responsibility. That's denying your potential. That's saying you aren't who you are today. That's betrayal of not just your friends, but also yourself. Seriously, can we choose this now? If only.

"Power is necessary because conflict will never dissappear."
Gilbert Durandal

Indeed, it is. But to what extent do we show the existence of our power? Until the enemy surrenders? Until one side is gone? And because of that you exercise your strength?

"This war won't end, even if you fight."
Kira Yamato

If we ever participate in anything, people discriminate us. If we hate them, that gives them more reason to hate us. Such a simple chain reaction, and yet how effecient it is.

"You can't do everything just because you have the heart and power to do it."
Lacus Clyne

This is beyond our power. The GEP can't just prove to the world they aren't the geniuses people think they are. We can't pretend it was all a lie. We can't force it into them. What way is there? Only one.

"The hardest battle is to keep on living."
Cagalli Yula Attha

*sigh* Not the hardest, the endless. And so we live on, smart but powerless.

.....Sorry for that, it sounded rather angsty.

Chorus of "Destiny", by Nami Tamaki

いつか見てた遠いあの空は
キミの心につながっていた
目を閉じればいつも名前呼ぶ声だけ聴こえる

Rough translation (I can't find one on the net)

Whever I stare away at the faraway sky,
My heart bonds with yours,
And when I close my eyes I can hear your voice calling out to me.

Bridge:

誰かを想うほど強くなる
自分を見つける 満たされてく
目を閉じればキミが名前呼ぶ声だけ聴こえる

If anyone ever thinks of becoming strong,
Look at yourself and (???)
And when I close my eyes I can hear your voice calling out to me.

--------------------------

Destiny - Nami Tamaki

OM

Mid-news: OM's gone into full rush. Duh, I mean the competition is in April.
Good news: I PASSED SHINING COLLECTION ONI CHALLENGE EDIT!!!!!!! I am happy. =) Now to work on Reality or Quasar 1.3x+>_>
Bad news: I FAILED GEOG WITH 24/50!!!! :'(
Bad news: MY L1R5 IS 13 AND ALL MY A2S ARE 74!!!!
Bad news: MY AVERAGE IS NOW 64.9 SO I GET A B4!!!!!
Bad news: I'M GOING TO DIE FOR MY FILECHECKS!!!!!

VERY BAD NEWS: THE BAD NEWS FAR OUTWEIGH THE GOOD NEWS!
Good news: I'm not angsty still. Yay!

*sigh* Sometimes I wonder how people are supposed to keep up with this level of stress. I've OM and SJAB and those two just don't mix. Now I'm skipping SJAB so much, which stinks because at this rate I won't get promoted to Corporal. Haiz.

I doubt I'll follow the Poonie trip to Genting Highlands because I went there last year already. >_> Sorry Mr.Poon.

Argh, SJAB has so many profeciency badges to get and some I know I just can't do: Archery (Actually, if I've a bit more training, I MIGHT be able to do it. JX obviously can do it >_>), Swimming, Atheletics (This is like really hard. You have to win events.), Musician (Does the word 'musician' ever come across when you hear anyone speak about me? Didn't think so.). That's 1/4 the profeciency badges gone! I am so sad. =( I have like 2 profeciency badges thus far. COOKING AND TOTAL DEFENCE (BRONZE)!!! *sigh* Next year I must go for the SANA course.

I wonder if I'll ever get into IB, finish my story, become a Staff Sargeant, and ever get good at anything at once. *sigh* Oh well, worst comes to worst practise at the arcade, participate in tournaments, and work my life as a gamer >_> What a waste of my life.

------------------------------------------------

Kiddy Grade is ending soon. I wonder what's up next. o_O

------------------------------------------------

Hsieh Wen is trying to get more friends. He created a list of criterion for choosing them. I took a look at it. JK and I agreed that 'Cuteness' was Skin-Deep Beauty-ish, 'Intelligence' was plain elitist (I mean, I get along with Sheu Zhi and I get along with JK and Jarrel Seah, and Sheu Zhi definitely isn't a math genius doing calculus and trigonometry.), and there was another which just didn't make sense. o_O So much for making friends.

-------------------------------------------------

Sorry my blog posts are so short nowadays, my thoughts are mostly scattered around the classroom and home, so they're all in fragments. Thus, I can't exactly do a full writing like I usually do. Hehe. Sorry.
