Holiday Life

Whee. It's the hols, and I can bet almost none of you who're reading this is happy about that. Personally I'd rather be at school playing shogi or cards or having a chat with anyone. Heck, even making fun of Kevin Wong is more fun than this.

Freedom comes boredom, boredom comes more boredom, and never freedom! *sigh* >_>

Somewhere out there I know there's at least two classmates playing something together. I wish it could be me >_>

Oh well. Y'know something? This time life REALLY is at a standstill. >_> Now I can't even come up with a coherent blogpost.

*sigh* I should've blogged on Saturday when I still had an idea for blogging. Now I'm stuck and I've forgotten what I wanted to blog about. Ponning Litsem doesn't help give any ideas >_>

--------------------------------------------------------

Whee, second seating trying to write le blogpost. The 1st one was somewhere around 9 or so I think. This is at 10.45.

Well, I just read Daniel's blog (One of the blogs that I rarely read), and looked at his blogpost about blogger/real life identity.

Lastly, he ended his latest blogpost with this:

"why cant we just be honest with each other? i mean... why do we have to put on shows in front of each other. like cant we get along well just as ourselves..."

Why can't we just be honest with each other, huh. XD Hey, I'm pretty frank IMO and not many people like me for that. >_> There's those people who're telling me to be sensitive to other's feelings while being honest, too.

Well, thing is, Mr.Daniel, honesty comes with a certain level of insensitivity. Of course, some people would say that that's being frank, not honest, but hey, euphemisms are the same, aren't they.

I suppose, if you want to be honest, you have to take into consideration the fact that you're going to hurt the other person's feelings either way. Which well, I'm not the most concerned about. >_> People put on shows because they don't want to hurt your feelings, or they don't want to hurt their own.

Complete honesty is only achieved within yourself, or with someone whom you can be as close with as your relationship with yourself. Which IMO = almost no one. >_>

Last time Gid's mom scolded me and told me that taking out certain parts of a story was as good as lying. *That was in P4. Lawl >_>* I suppose I have to agree with her to a certain extent. I wouldn't call it outright lying, but it's enough to warp the entire story, no? And that's what some friends do: Give you warped versions of things so as to protect their relationship.

SZ also asked me how I was capable of saying such things to Zhang, since after all it'd hurt his feelings. Honestly, why would that matter? Is one's friendship so easily broken up by things like small insults? I'd rather not have friends like that then. *But I do. Ooh the hypocrisy and irony. >_>*

Now, Mr. Daniel, do you understand why we cannot be honest with everyone? You do that too much and you'll end up like this insensitive fella over here XD

Flat Conversation with SZ

Oh, the little gems of life that make it so amusing.

Two of us began a conversation, and I was talking about not being able to relaunch the opponent into the air after Millia's d.HS j.S j.HS. It IS real difficult btw >_>

HERR: I can't seem to do it =SZ: >_> different characters have different weights, so maybe your opponent's weight is differernt...?
HERR: I did it on Ky. >_>
SZ: >_> KY IS FLAT I CANT DO HALF MY SLAYER COMBOS ON HIM O_O
SZ: lol
HERR: o_O Wait. Flat......???
SZ: yarrr. Using May right, I cant use my basic combo on him.
HERR: Flat in what sense...?
SZ: because he's flat, and so is Millia. Millia isnt as flat, but still quite bad…
HERR: >_> Can't you just say light?
SZ: they're not light , they're flat >_>
SZ: its the only way I can describe him o_O
HERR: >_> You do know flat is a term used to describe women, right?
SZ: no la >_>
HERR: >_> I can't picture you describing Ky as flat. >_>
HERR: Much less Millia >_>
SZ: >_> If May cant poke him with a dolphin properly, he's flat >_>
HERR: Umm >_> Urbandictionary:

Flat:

1. The name given to an apartment which you rent weekly or
monthly.
2. The name given to someone who is not cool and is dull
and boring
3. The name given to a woman with no or hardly any breasts.
4. Something which is level, does not decrease or increase.
5. The name given to something filled with air which is now
de-flated.

SZ: o_O""""""
HERR: >_> You see, when you say a person is flat, you usually refer to her body. If you want to refer to his/her personality you kinda say so. >_>
SZ: -.-"""""""
HERR: People just love slang definitions nowadays >_>
SZ: ok Ky is flat, 4 >_>
HERR: Uhh >_> That's not exactly the best definition to use either >_> It's ambiguous.
SZ: >_<"""" I dunno la
HERR: >_> just say light.
SZ: he just hits the ground very quickly, so that means Ky is damn heavy =o
HERR: No >_>
SZ: yes!
HERR: Physics rules that if you drop a 1-ton weight and an apple at the same height, they will fall at the same rate. Acceleration due to gravity is constant and one's mass doesn't matter here. >_>
HERR: The only difference is how much it hurts.
SZ: you try doing: HS, pilebunker, RC, F.HS , Pilebunker, RC, F.HS, pilebunker on him
SZ: it wont work, because he's flat =o
SZ: lol
HERR: >_> no comment.
SZ: >_>
Herr: >_> Just.... don't... use... the word flat to describe people >_>
SZ: >_<"""""""" lol

A Salute to 2.12

Today was the party for 2.12, and also Kevin Wong's birthday party. Honestly, it wouldn't have been possible had it not for everyone's cooperation. Thanks.

Preparations:

I thank Jarrel and Kevin Low for helping clear the rubbish,
Kevin Low for helping arrange the tables with me,
Michael for sweeping up the rubbish on the floor with me,
Darrell for helping pick up that dastardly annoying ACS Echo when I couldn't sweep it onto the dustpan,
Kevin Low, Isaac and Zhang for going all the way down to Dover Market to buy drinks when people forgot to bring it,
Members of the class for bringing the food down,
and lastly everyone in 2.12 for bringing $5 each. Guess Kev and my $20 wasn't needed. XD

Sam Chan says that I'll be a good bachelor because most bachelors are very messy yet I arranged the entire class singlehandedly (Well, almost singlehandedly. Kev left 1/2way to help buy drinks and I stayed in class to continue arranging stuff. t'was my idea anyway. I mean, a class holding a party must look fit for a party, right? >_>)

But that's not the point. He says I'm neat? He should see my house. Then again, Mike says Yu Min's is worse. >_>

Oh well. XD

-----------------------------------------------------------

CG Quiz:

Heh, our team got 3rd. TKK and I were at the front seats being very annoyed at the mainstreamers behind us who kept insulting the emcees, particularly Crawshaw. =
Oh well, it was screwed up anyway. Since when did detectives get the right to apprehend suspects? Only policemen are allowed to do that.

And what's with the anagrams o_O

Aah, oh well. XD

------------------------------------------------------------

Stock-taking:

Was fun. Was working with Russell, Sam Chan, Mike, and Kyle. Well, don't need to say much about this should I. Except for that very disturbing ISO Project about horror movies and had that baby doll which kept singing London Bridge is Falling Down. Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaky.

Oh, and the skeleton. XD

----------------------------------------------------------

The Party:

Heh. 16 Pizzas and we ate it all up save the 2 for teachers. In record 15 minutes. XD Canadian Pizza is way way small >_>

Then came chips. I guess everyone took longer but we enjoyed it anyway.

Then teh spillage. Oh well, let bygones be bygones, no? T'was only 1/2 the 1.5l Coke bottle anyway. And I never really did like Coke. XD Sarsi ftw!

Music was okay, I guess. I was listening to my iPod. >_> Sometimes with Jarrel, sometimes with Bryan, sometimes with SZ. I don't really like Gorrilaz though. Sounds quite meh =\ And Spongebob's Campfire song (Like, lol Tucky chose it. o_O)

The teachers were very nice despite class parties not being allowed, XD All took a pizza, even Sherilyn Goh. o_O

Had much fun around. =)

Photo-taking:

Posed alot. Best was the final photo where it was JY, KW and I though. Damn, today's the first time I actually felt that I liked that picture. I guess I really AM a poser after all XD

The photos I liked:

The ones of me and Mike's brooms clashing together in a cross-shape. You don't see Mike's face but you know it's him. It's cool >_>

Teh Mike and I faceup with brooms-crossed. Shaun's gonna photoshop that pic >_>

Kev and me posing together. Dunno which one though. XD

SZ, JY and I posing together. Looked pretty good, but it woulda been better if the camera was facing us directly. It looked kinda slanted. Well, it WAS, but that's not the point. >_>

My 2 Silver-vest pics. They look quite funny. Trinity and Morpheus! XD

KW, JY, Watashi. That was my best pic yet I think >_>

Maybe some others with me, but those are the ones I liked. Well, hey. XD I wanted to take a pic with SZ though. Oh well, there's chances aplenty tomorrow!

------------------------------------------------

Giving Thanks

I suppose, that our class is indeed one which has been among the most close of classes, and personally, I'll say that it's the closest class I've ever been in.

While I will say that it is definitely sad that all of us are going to 'part ways' from now on (Heh, I don't even cry, why am I saying this? Geez.), it's not that easy to break us, right? I don't think so, and I don't want to think so.

Our class knows a class spirit that no other class has, not even among the GEP. Perhaps I'm being egoistic, but don't we all think that 2.12 has been nothing short of great this year? I mean, there's people who think I'm a good Vice-chairman, dangit! o_O

Well, here's the whole bunch of people I will have to thank.

Ang Seng Wei for telling me that I'm a good chairman. Thanks, I really appreciate that. =) That and the occasional chat.

Peter, for Chess. Though I didn't actually play with you, seeing you play with Yong Jun and ending and deliberate stalemate everytime was amusing. XD

Job, for OM and chat. HOW I MINE FOR FISH lol =) Ble! OM woulda been less fun without you, propsman. Well, good thing you came. Ble! Good races we had, and some random talks too. =)

Hsieh Wen, for Chess and chatting. I remember waking up everyday and playing you at chess early in the morning before the sun would go up. And each time I came close to winning you'd suddenly comeback and beat me hands-down. Kudos. Transfer chess is very fun too, btw =) Lastly, for INACGENT! >_>

Yong Jun, for Chess and chat. Though I haven't known you for very long, I suppose I can safely say that we're friends, no?

Henry, for OM and friends. Well, thanks, I guess XD. Also, thanks for being such a good prefect. Also, teh pro racers =) Thanks for teaching me pool too. Slow-mo-fighting!

Isaac, for OM, ISO and DRAGOSTEA DIN TEI. >_> And teh pro prefectorship =) Thanks for bearing with my suckiness during ISO. >_>

Joshua Rene, for OM, and being le kewl prefect. =) Thanks for teaching me pool too.

JK, for his humourous conversations with HW, and other thought-provoking ones with others too. Your gaming skillz aren't too good, but hey, that's not what defines you, right?

Wei Hua, for Guilty Gear! =) And various other randomtalk too. XD Also, thanks for holding the greatest GEP Birthday Party each year at your house!~ =)

Sidhant, for various monkey humour in class =)

Louis, for being teh lamezorz >_>

Chin Chuan, for being a source of amusement when along with Louis. Both of you make a good pair, XD Bian4 Tai4 Xian1 Sheng1!

Boey, for chatting and also for providing humour by being with Kevin Wong. XD

Daniel Yee, for his constant 'angst' and his humourous talking >_>

Lou Ee, for Chrno Crusade and various anime discussion. =) And Aikido too, XD Your punches hurt a ton though, >_>

Darren Wee for Guilty Gear, and the occasional interesting chat with me.

Sam Teo for Guilty Gear, and the occasional chat. Remember teh COCONATTO CHURII from last year? XD

JX for all the occasional chats, and SJAB. Though you're quitting, I guess we'll be better friends from now on, especially since you're joining my class next year. =) Good luck with that chain mail! =)

Cleon, for various news stuff, and for learning Stepmania and Drummania. Hope you become good at DDR or Drummania someday. Thanks especially for all the RPGs that you lent me to play, I really thank you for that.

Darrell, for teh fuzzyable! And I've gotten quite used to being called fuzzyable and Herrickysaurus. >_> I'm not going to let anyone apart from him call me that though. There's a certain way he does it >_> Oh, and he's a good chess partner too! Especially for Japanese chess. =)

Bryan, for joining the GG Community =) Thanks for all the out-of-point humour you brought in, and Domo-Kun! I will make sure I topple your waterbottle in the future. Muahahaha. =) Thanks for the occasional chat too, and teh SHAMAN KING! XD

Gid, for the humour he brought into class, the ABUDEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYs and the humour I draw from various actions of his. >_> Thanks also for the humour you bring whereever you go, even in the arcade playing the Daytona. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Thanks for all your help and stuff during OM too, and thanks for the humour that you brought to the OM team. Things woulda been different without you, the verbal king, no? =)

Kevin Wong, for teh guaizainess, and also the fact that I could make fun of him every now and then. >_> I suppose his mindset has changed me in some ways though. Your optimism is quite contagious too, though. More importantly, thanks for the greatness known as the homework board! I would have died without it, honestly. =) *Psstpsstpsst* NOTHING! =D

Jarrel Seah, for being a good friend to me. Taught me alot about music, science, math and helped me in many stuff as well. What do I teach him in return? Philosophy. LAWL >_> He's definitely a great guy though, and a good chess and discussion partner too. =) I'll make sure I treasure next year. =)

Zhang, for friendship, for IYE (For letting my sanity live through IYE to be exact), for chatting. Though I can't say I appreciate your style of humour, I will admit that the laughing spasms are contagious. >_> I won't forget the times you said 'Stylohz' when I was playing DDR, XD

SZ, for introducing me to teh greatness of Guilty Gear! And also for beating me at KoF 2000 that time, sure opened my eyes wide to the outside world >_> Also for being a good International Chess, Chinese Chess and Shogi player. Pity you have to go to 3.10 =
Jun Yi, for teh pr0 h4xx0r hair of doom XD Suddenly two of us became good friends, no? XD From the start of the year to now, we've become from strangers to real good friends. Thanks for being a good philosophy partner, and just as I've changed you, you've kinda changed me too. =) As you said it, friends forever. Remember, TIME CRISIS IN STYLE! Pro =) And also teh driving =)

Shaun, for being the archbishiop. =) I thank you for last year, and for letting me in for the various projects like the IR Project. You, Jarrel and I make a good team, no? Though I won't say alot for you, thanks for everything.

Mike, for being such a good friend to me during SJAB, MSN, and whenever we're free. Thanks for all the good philosophical and theological discussions we had over the year. Thanks for listening to my favours time and time again, and thanks for being so honest to me all this time. Thanks for setting up the S2GEP Forum otherwise known as GEPpers Creepers. Thanks for teaching me so much about Catholicism, and thanks for helping me so much over the course of the year. Thanks for all your advice in terms of my CAP Writings, and thanks for the humour you and Zhang have brought into my life.

Kevin Low, for being the best chairman there ever is, and ever will be. Thanks for putting up with a rather incompetent vice-chair, and thanks for helping me whenever I needed it. Thanks for coming up with TNN, the greatest thing that made 2.12 2.12 and not any other normal class out there in ACS(I). Thanks for being so patient with the class when it was about to explode, and thanks for putting up your blog so we could help you. Thanks for the awesomeness of our OM script, and thanks for the lame puns and humour that you brought into our class. Thanks for being there when I needed you, and thanks for needing me at times too. Thanks for well, everything!

Though our class will split up, there's something that won't split up. That's our class spirit. Remember our team spirit during OEP? Yes, that team spirit will never go. It is what makes us 2.12, and not any other class. 2.12 is ours, and ours alone. No other 2.12 shall have a legacy similar to ours. TNN is ours and ours only. No other 2.12 shall have that like us. GEPpers Creepers was by us, and will be for us, and none other. This class spirit is ours, and for none other. No matter how far we split our class, we can always have a reunion, and I can go up to someone, say "Hey, Hellfire." and Boey would be able to say "Hey, Herrick." It is a sublimal feeling that makes this class so unique. Not everything in class may be good, but when everything fits together, who cares? Our class may not be perfect to others, but it is perfect to me, or should I say, it is perfect to us. I don't want to change 2.12, and it will not change. No change of numbers, no change of class, shall take away the pride of us, that was 2.12.

Sadness is temporal as we leave into two different classes, but memories are forever. We choose our future, and we choose whether or not to break 2.12 or not. And in my opinion, that choice is a no. Thanks everyone, you've been a great crowd, and even as the curtain closes, life will go on, and a new show will begin. New casts, new stages, new props, new scripts, and new conflicts for our characters, but none will forget the very honour and pride of being a Naphtalian. No change, no destruction, no relocation or difference in curriculum will sever us apart.

WE ARE NAPHTALI, AND WE WILL STAY AS NAPHTALI! AND WE WILL ALL BE ONE, AS NAPHTALI!

-----------------------------------------------------

Even if there are days when the tears roll down my cheeks
I want to have your back all for myself, but
Because kindness is also cruel sometimes
I lose sight of the answer the more I search for it

If you can see the rainbow in the town after the rain
Let's start walking now, something is about to begin

Because I have you, because I have tomorrow
Because I can't live on all alone
I feel you so close by me, I guess that's love
Because you know how much pain tears can bring
I want to find a smile in your transparent eyes
As I search for a definite meaning in them

Although it'd be good if these feelings found their way into your heart without me needing to speak a word,

The colour of the town changes little by little but
See, our memories have again increased by one

Because now I can embrace every word that you said
I'm sure that we'll come closer to each other
I guess that's love
Even if a tomorrow that nobody knows is waiting for us
It's all right, don't cry anymore
We'll join hands
And keep walking on forever

It isn't something that builds up in an instant
But a feeling that grows a little at a time,
The feeling called love

Because I have you, because I have tomorrow
Because I can't live on all alone
I feel you so close by me, I guess that's love
Because you know how much pain tears can bring
I want to find a smile in your transparent eyes
As I search for a definite meaning in them...

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu! OP, Sore Ga Ai Deshou? (I guess, that's love?)

I dedicate this to all those in 2.12. Don't feel sad. =) (Yes, it's translated for all of you. Gotta love animelyrics translations. =)

Blogger Evangelism

Doctor Ong of ACS(I) has brought up the problem of students in the school who blog bad things against teachers. They have legal grounds to prosecute us for defamation. I just cannot see why these students want to be so evil towards our great principal Dr. Ong!

Just like he said, what these students blog about is completely racist, insensitive, defamatory, and DEFINITELY not true at all! These criticism must stop no matter what! Can you see that these students should absolutely not be given any chance to put forward any argument no matter how real or logical, because all of this is not true?! These students just absolutely sicken me to the core. Don't they?

These bloggers are plain rotten and should be expelled on the spot for putting such criticisms across to their teachers. Blogging whenever you want and saying whatever you like about whoever you dislike; it's just plain evil and mean! I mean, you don't bitch on a blog, right? That's plain insensitive. Indeed Ms.Yvonne Lim is right. She knows about the bloggers and their EVIL ways... and she WILL do something about it! There will be no time left for regret. Muahahaha! You all shall submit to Drong and Yvonne!

No more well-placed arguments or logical criticisms, you ACSian cretins! I just do not believe that you deserve to be in ACS, let alone in the exclusive GEP programme! Go back to the vile unopinionated mindless submissive Singaporean society where you come from! Cause no more trouble for Drong his Principality and Yvonne her saviourship!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Ms. Yvonne Lim has absolutely changed my life today. She has taught me the truth. Truth that is forgotten to ye, all who have not listened to her during her wonderful lecture to us! I used to think like you: Thinking I was a normal person in ACSI learning and having friends, being a normal person with his ups and downs.

WRONG.

I have now learnt from her! I have learnt about how heartless I am! What cruelty I exercise! What a merciless existence I have, and what evil is in that heart of stone of mine. But I have understood! And I will turn a new leaf from today onwards! I will vow never to procrastinate during my community service again! This salvation from evil. What is it called?

It is called Service Learning, and we should all do it.

Imagine the tremendous good that will be done for the community? Forget your own needs, work for the greater good! We must not procrastinate and slack anymore. We shall never miscommunicate anymore. We shall be diligent in our work, or it shall not be doing good to the community. Turn to the light side, everyone! Seek not justice! Seek not mercy! Seek for community service hours!

Only by this way, shall we be virtuous and good in the eyes of the communities. We are privaledged! Ignore the discrimination, it is but a cry of jealousy! We must learn to like these poor jealous beings, my friends. Come, there is but still more people out there in Africa who need our help! More orphanages in Singapore who need our education! More principals in Dover who need our donations! Tell me, my friends; is this not a noble cause? More noble than studying for your final exams? I curse the soul who believes that studying is more important than doing good to the community. Virtue and Character over Studies, I say!

No, we cannot stop at helping others. We must help ourselves from sin too! We must all take a vow of chastity like Ms. Yvonne Lim did! Marry not another human, marry virtue itself! In that way can one be truly enlightened to the needs of this world.

Come my friends, is the future not bright with people who need our help? The future is not full of needy people. It is full...

...of opportunities!

Friendships

My title for my blogpost is Friendships, but none of you can read it anyway. Which is good since some of my previous blogposts have had somewhat random titles >_>

Why this, despite all that I've talked about in my posts about it some time ago? In fact, this is probably one topic my blog talks about the most, isn't it?

SZ: Herr, why can you say such cruel things about Zhang? (When I said that his happiness was insensitive and also an effect of Kevin)
Me: I say what I want, when I want, where I want, and I will defend my statement. (Damn, that's like one of those statements I use alot now isn't it.)

*Go onto bus, and Mike and I talk for a while about the meaning of life. We both conclude that there isn't the meaning of life, but rather a meaning of life. Amusingly Mike feels that it's possible to have multiple meanings of life. SZ interrupts.*

SZ: Herr, can I ask something? Why do you say that Zhang's happiness was caused by Kevin?
Me: In my opinion, his happiness
SZ: No, I meant WHY you said that.
Me: Hmm. That's my opinion I guess. Is there any other reason for that? Like I said. I say what I want, when I want, where I want. I will defend my statement.

SZ: But wouldn't that hurt his feelings?
Me: I can say that you're a nice guy, but I'll also say that you're retarded. Does that hurt your feelings?
SZ: No.
Me: I also say that you're stupid.
SZ: No.
Me: And also a loser. Doesn't that hurt your feelings?
SZ: No, but that's different!
Me: In what way? In fact, my statement to you is more insulting than my statement to Zhang.

SZ: But you shouldn't say such things right?
Me: I say what I want about my friends whenever I want. It's my opinion, and I feel that if I can't even say my own opinion that's pretty much manipulation, isn't it? I feel that Zhang's pretty insensitive in his actions, so I say it, no?
Me: Friends, in my opinion, aren't people who condone your actions and do nothing about it, because that's equivalent to encouragement. They're people who tell you what's wrong with you, and try to help you change it.
SZ: But people have their own way of doing things, right?

Me: If people don't know their own problems, they won't change. Let me tell you about Jeremy before he went into Sec 1 to use as an example.
Mike and I: *Tells SZ about JK in P4/5 and P6. Particularly Mrs.Karen Wong's bringing out the immense change in JK and making him not a crybaby anymore.*
Me,SZ and Mike: *Talks abit about JK, and about the people who let him be himself so as to make fun of him, etc.*
Me: If there's something wrong with someone, my question is this: Why tolerate it?

*Bus Stop comes, I leave.*

Mike continued talking with SZ abit, about how Zhang's happiness is different from Kev's, and what their source of happiness was.

Well, at least that's something like how the conversation went.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kev's (Could be either, could be both.) pic is now a photograph of both of them with the words "Friends Forever" in orange text on it.

Guess it isn't my style to say 'Friends Forever'. When friends who say that break apart, it's worse because it's like just yesterday when they said that promise.

I dunno, I quite fear that feeling, but I know that my friends, whether or not they still are, are people I will treasure. I still remember Jonathon's phone number after 7 years (He moved house in P1 to Signature Park): 64684559. It was the only number I ever called before P2, and probably I'm going to remember it for a long time.

In spite of all that, we really all are quite paranoid about our friends, no? Yet I still can say this:

SZ: Where does your happiness come from?
Me: Me, huh. My happiness, I suppose, comes from the fact that I could be alone, and I can have faith that someone out there is still thinking of me.
Me: That something has been done due to me. That people can remember me due to me being me.
Me: No matter where I am, I can always know that I still have friends I can trust in. Friends I can have conflicts with yet never go beyond the point of no return. Friends that will be friends when I need friends.
SZ: omg sophisticated >_<""" lol, hmm.
Me: Haha. That's me, all right.

Perhaps, my trust in my friends may not pay off in the end. Perhaps, they will really backstab me and kill me in my sleep. Perhaps, they will return my loyalty with betrayal, and friendship with hate. Perhaps, they really never were much of a friend to me.

But I will still remember the good times we had, and though revenge is bittersweet dish best served cold, perhaps it isn't the best appetizer to fill oneself. Rather, it is the memories, the sentimentality, and love you used to share in the past, that makes you look at the new person, and cry to his or her change. But in the end, you have to accept it, but never forget what he or she used to be.

To be forgotten, perhaps, really is worse than death after all, eh?

Conversation with Zhang

Had an interesting conversation with Zhang yesterday. It has a whole ton of capital letters from me, though, so be warned.

HERR: Argh everyone's suddenly becoming valentinos.
ZQ: o_O what's with the argh...
HERR: >_>
ZQ: -.-" haha
HERR: I mean it. Everyone's becoming a darn romantic. You included.
HERR: ARGH THE IDEALISM ARGH THE IDEALISTIC LOVE ARGH THE IDEALISTIC LOVING PEOPLE
ZQ: it's teenyboppism =)
ZQ: err
ZQ: isn't that what everyone should be!
HERR: ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE FLOWERS THEY GROW IN YOUR HEAD
ZQ: then there'll be world peace
ZQ: and miss universes can't use that phrase anymore =)
HERR: ARGH
HERR: You still think of world peace?
ZQ: why not... -.- Wars are fought so that when they end, there'll be world peace. All countries should just join the UN
HERR: AND DON'T YOU SEE THE UTTER HYPOCRISY INHERENT IN THAT?!
ZQ: o_O
HERR: If all countries joined the UN then there'd BE NO UN!
HERR: The UN is what it is now BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE'S IN IT!
ZQ: no, there'll be no _need_ for UN since it's so peaceful and all already and that's good what!
HERR: You are way too idealistic.
ZQ: they could still maintain the UN anyway, just to show the world's like one big happy family
HERR: Which it isn't.
ZQ: everyone strives to be idealistic. As in, if
HERR: Selfishly so, to be exact.
ZQ: if there _is_ world peace and all
ZQ: err
HERR: The only way that can be possible is by isolation.
ZQ: you don't have to see it as selfish
HERR: Yes I do.
ZQ: if the whole world is selfish, no one is. So then we start working together and everyone's happy
ZQ: haha o_O
HERR: If the whole world is selfish, THEN THE WHOLE WORLD IS SELFISH.
HERR: If no one is selfish because the whole world is selfish, THEN THAT WORLD SUCKS.
ZQ: i thought you think the world sucks
HERR: It does, but not as much as the world you foresee.
HERR: “if the whole world is selfish, no one is. so then we start working together and everyone's happy”
HERR: LIKE WTH THAT'S STUPID LOGIC!
ZQ: butbut the point is everyone should just live peacefully in the end, right...?
HERR: I'd like to think of a world where bliss isn't ignorance, thank you very much.
ZQ: no you don't ignore the issues! once you settle them, then everything would be back to normal and peaceful ways!
HERR: I'm sure every single case out there can be solved peacefully.
ZQ: sooner or later...
HERR: *sigh* You're naive. Murders? Sueing? Death? Failure to protect? War?
HERR: "Oh you killed my mom, ok. I'll be nice to you." "Hey thanks."
HERR: That's not peace. That's psychotism.
ZQ: i thought i was saying the world _should_ be peaceful and happy -.- I didn't say it was, or would be
HERR: “no you don't ignore the issues! once you settle them, they everything would be back to normal and peaceful ways!”
HERR: I'm saying that such a situation is stupid and impossible.
ZQ: but we could still aim towards it, right?
HERR: Yeah. Like chasing rainbows: It never ends.
ZQ: but it still gives people hope
HERR: Another thing about chasing rainbows? You never make progress.
HERR: HOPE! HOPE! DON'T YOU GET IT? IT'S IGNORANCE! AND THIS IGNORANCE IS GIVING BLISS!
ZQ: you don't ignore them...!
HERR: I will whack my head on the desk if you say that's good.
ZQ: you just try your best
HERR: AND THAT'S IGNORANCE!
ZQ: you aren't ignoring stuff if you're trying to do something...
HERR: My gosh is there a Lv.10 wall of flowers that prevents words from getting in?
You're chasing rainbows. Is that ignoring it in any way? No.
Is that hopeful? Yes
Is that stupid? Yes.
Is this hope stupid and naive? Yes.
Is this hope derived from not knowing that rainbows can't be caught? Yes.
Is this hope therefore ignorant? Yes.
Do you derive happiness from this hope? Yes.
IGNORANCE IS BLISS.
ZQ: so what do you say? sit back and do nothing? -.-
HERR: Better than you.
ZQ: so everyone might as well do nothing
HERR: How about working towards something that ISN'T a rainbow?
ZQ: and the world would collapse within a few days -.-
ZQ: like...?
HERR: LIKE PERHAPS SOMETHING THAT ISN'T FULL MARKS? SOMETHING LIKE A DECENT SCORE?
ZQ: which is doing your best!
HERR: NO IT'S NOT
ZQ: to get a decent score, you aim towards full marks knowing you won't get it, but you've already tried your best so you'll still get a decent score!
HERR: When you do your best you cry and grovel when you don't reach a certain mark, and you say that you could've done better.
ZQ: but you know that it's decent already
HERR: AIM TOWARDS FULL MARKS? THAT'S NOT DECENT! THAT'S IDEALISM ALREADY!
HERR: You're arguing like Pascal's Wager.
ZQ: no...! It helps us do better than we could have
HERR: I'm SURE. It helps you ANGST better, that's for sure.
ZQ: like, if you dont' have a target, obviously you won't put in effort and you won't do well.
HERR: I said I have a target that isn't 100 marks. UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE
HERR: A target I CAN ACHIEVE UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE
HERR: A target that isn't a rainbow UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE.
ZQ: i never said my target was 100marks -.-
HERR: In WHAT WAY is that idealism? And in WHAT WAY is trying to get 100 marks NOT IDEALISM?
ZQ: it is
HERR: Unless you're Louis Lim for Art, but that's an exception.
HERR: Getting a score you can achieve is something fools don't realize is actually possible. If people actually BOTHER to try out these stuff they'll actually angst less.
ZQ: i don't aim towards full marks!
ZQ: and i think an idealistic world is like, robotic already
HERR: Since when was this a personal attack towards you?
HERR: Unless you're one of those who seriously believes that the Best is Yet to Be
HERR: An idealistic world is depressing.
ZQ: uhhuh
HERR: Because everyone strives to do their best. And there can't be best from everyone. And if you don't get your best human nature is to angst. *Even Kevin Wong gets depressed when he doesn't do as well as he should, so don't argue this with me.*
ZQ: you can just tell yourself that you've tried your best, although the results might be otherwise...
HERR: So that becomes delusion and self-comfort and HENCE IGNORANCE AGAIN.
ZQ: so how can we be _not_ ignorant...?
HERR: Perhaps actually aiming for stuff that can be achieved? And when you fall short of that you angst? This isn't perfect, but since when was anything perfect?
HERR: Perhaps just saying outright that you fell short of your 'best'?
HERR: AFTER IT BECOMES ATTAINABLE? At least that becomes justified angst.
ZQ: it's still angst -.-
HERR: And you're trying to aim for a world without it? That's ignorance, no?
That's like trying to get the world to be deviod of a certain feeling. It's impossible.
ZQ: so why don't you just let people go ahead and angst if it can't be stopped? what's the point of justifying feelings?
HERR: It makes them seem far less stupid, for one. And way less uncalled for too. I can decrease it, I can't stop it. There's a difference. Like I said, I DO what I CAN, not TRY what I CAN'T. Unlike the 1st the 2nd usually ends up in depression due to incapability of achievement.
ZQ: so you're just trying to make stuff less stupid and uncalled for, that's all?
HERR: And reduce some other stuff, yes.
I dislike world peace. It's a rainbow up there. It's like world domination, except world domination's a cloud, not a rainbow.
ZQ: ok...
HERR: It's better than what some others wish for. World peace? World domination? Please.

ACS (Primary) Visit

Today was the students-from-ACPS visit to ACPS. Anyone who didn't see it, sucks to ye for not being a member on Geppers Creepers. >_>

I left home at 8.40, thinking I'd be late (Mom told me to leave 8.30). Ends up I got here at 9.00 to 9.10. =\ Gee, how's that for early =
Went to talk to Mr.Poon. Chatted a bit then Zhang came. Then we chatted some more. Then Lou Ee came and I suddenly had an urge to listen to Katamari Damacy on my iPod. >_> Lou Ee was a tad freaked out because I was singing along to it and doing random Katamari Damacy actions >_> Then I started singing to Dragostea Din Tei and Mr.Poon suddenly talking about this Chicken Little. I was like wth, what's Chicken Little? Now I know >_>

After a while a whole ton of people came. Shaun and Michael, then Wei Hua, then Kevin Wong and JK, then Kevin Low, then Job. Wei Hua and KW+JK may be mixed up, but that's it.

Talked to quite a few of the teachers (And I made fun of Mrs.Hah as well >_>)

Then we all headed over to Plaza Sing to eat (Kevin Wong had coupons, so we ate at KFC.) lunch, and we all split up and walked around a bit. In the meantime I challenged Wei Hua to GGXX, and he accepted. But first we would go to Comics Connection.

There he bought Naruto #15, and I decided to buy a G-SEED Figurine (My bro gave me a few bucks saying he felt lucky today.) Wei Hua saw me open it and saw a Cagalli.

Me: What the hell.
WH: ?
Me: That makes a 3rd Cagalli.
WH: Lol
Me: *Whine*
WH: *Laugh*
Me: *Whine*
WH: *Laugh*

etc >_>

Then we went down to the arcade. Lost to Wei Hua's Jam twice, then I beat him with Faust. Then he lost to my Faust twice, then beat it with Sol. Then we had a real close Ky vs. Sol showdown.

1: Beat with 1/2 life
2: Lost with really small amount of life.
3: Lost with 1/2 life.

The 2nd match was amazingly close. =) Then he started spamming Riot Stomp and Volcanic Viper, and I died >_>

Tried DDR as well. So Deep is annoying, no less to speak. I can't get past that part where the arrows are so dense I don't get them anymore. >_>

Got to the 1/2way mark of Max 300 Heavy before I died. Ouch, and that's bar hugging too. Oh well, guess I can't handle any of the Maxxes anytime soon. Maybe Sakura's the only 10-footer I may be able to pass, XD Oh well.

Then there was the other go at the arcade. People playing DDR so I didn't do it. Instead I played GG against some n00b dude, which turned out to be quite amusing.

Ky (Me) vs Faust (Him) : Own
Ky (Me) vs Ky (Him) (Omg oh no he's using my char to beat me I bet he's some pro who's training with Faust) : Own anyway.
Ky (Me) vs Bridget (CPU): SUDDEN CHALLENGE. Omg he knows how I play and he's going to counter it and beat me now.
Ky (Me) vs Potemkin (Makes sense wad, him btw): Beat him, no own though. But wth he's a n00b lar. I jump around like mad and he doesn't Potemkin Buster. UHH
Ky (Me) vs Potemkin AGAIN (Him AGAIN) : My charge stun edges suddenly all became d.HS and I died with him having so little life left >_<

But it was humourous, I mean the 'psychological warfare' I had against a n00b. Dangit >_>

Then I went to play PPP. Believe it or not I played PPP. And yes, PPP as in Para para paradise. Yes, it sounds corny. Yes, I played it. No, it's not that game you're thinking of. That's 1st mix, I played 2nd mix (1st is better >_<)

Kev said I'm a natural at this. Whoa o_O But I could get by Dynamite Rave pretty fine despite it being a 7-star song. I now say that Dynamite Rave or any kind of remix is my favourite song to play on any Bemani songs. Be it PPP or DDR I WILL PLAY IT. >_>

I failed on Speedway though. It's my favourite song on PPP (Dynamite Rave is 2nd, actually I like both songs very much and can't decide which is nicer >_>) but I failed it. =\ And it was a 4-star too. Must've screwed up at random parts. =
Oh well, I will play 1st mix and unlock Another Expert, then play Speedrave and Dynamite Rave!

PPP is more fun than DDR: It's more flexible and less stompy. I'll be playing that instead of DDR for a while I guess.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course, there's the part about watching Corpse Bride as well.

Kev Wong says it's such a happy ending. Umm >_> It's not supposed to be such a happy ending Kev >_> It's a nice movie overall, but yes, DT's right. There isn't enough personality in the living people save Victor Der Wolt (Did I spell his surname right?). In contrast the dead people were all quite developed in character.

That said, the show was quite the enjoyable show. It was nice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finished Chrno Crusade (Yay =). It's quite sad, but also a good anime. According to G'win the story's ending is different 100%. I suppose he's right. >_> The story is so sad though =\

That, and I wonder if SZ can stand watching certain episodes. Especially with his conscience. >_>

Gives some thoughts though. Oh well, shan't talk about them.

The end of the exams.

Queer, it's almost evening and still no one has blogged that it's Merdeka.

Oh well, guess I'll be the first.

Eng: Fine. Can do decent.
Lsc: Fine, can do decent too.
Math: Annoying, lost 10 marks already I think. A2 at best if I'm lucky.
Psc: Should do well.
Lit: Hmm, decent I guess.
HCL: Eh. =Art: Eh. =Geog: Meh, doubt I'll do too well.
Hist: Should do decent.
Jap: MUST BEAT ZHANG RARRR

Yeah, that kinda sums it up.

Y'know, exams always give you this kinda raison d'etre. Instead of one's usual meaningless life of doing nothing but submitting homework (or skipping it, hehe >_>), you actually get the chance to redeem yourself. With a good mug o' coffee and a good mug o' study. It's really quite a psychological thing, no?

Now that the exams have ended, it's like cutting out what your status quo has been for the past few days/weeks/months (If it's the 3rd you're overdoing it. It's not like PSLE or the O's, yarr? >_>) and replacing it with nothing but slack. Leisure is ok, but it induces boredom real quick. I guess that's the ultimate flaw to freedom, eh? XD

Oh well, I've some stuff to do still, like read that book before I work on rewriting my story, continue TNN, and various other stuff. Hopefully I get one or two A1s since my mom says she'd buy me a game for each one I get. Not too many though, I don't wanna compromise on sports and stuff.

By the way, if anyone's thinking of having a game of sports or anything during the hols, tell me too, k? I miss badminton. >_>

Anyway. I've been thinking. The year's ending soon. Life passes real quick, doesn't it? It's almost like yesterday that I said goodbye to Mel. It's almost like yesterday where I had that fight with Michael over friendship. It's almost like yesterday where we were playing badminton and having fun. It's almost like yesterday where we had all sorts of cool teachers in ACPS. It's almost like yesterday. And soon it'll feel like yesterday when I grow up, look back at my blog, and think of this. It's quite sad, isn't it? Life passing so quickly. I don't really feel like I'm going on 15, and I really doubt any of you do, either. Unless you're one of those "HAHAHA I'm 15 now R35P3C7 M4H 4U7H0R17Y!" kinda people. The only of which Gid comes close, and he's not that much like that either.

It's these kinda thoughts that make people really annoyed that an Elixir of Life doesn't exit, no? But what's the good in worrying? Time passes anyway.

"一寸光阴一寸金,寸金难买寸光阴" - Le Chinese Proverb.

Haiz, it's so sad really, time passes, friends pass, lives pass, and soon enough you pass too. If something could be made to stop death. But then the population would outburst. Oh well. >_>

Soon enough everything'll be gone, won't it? Soon enough there'll be a GEP reunion, won't it? Soon enough we'll all be in NS, and soon enough we'll be out of it, in Uni, sharing army stories.

Y'know what? I shouldn't be thinking of this. Life's still great, yeah? Maybe I should just cherish whatever's left of it. At least my life ain't cut short for me yet. Gotta be thankful for that.

Heh, maybe angst just doesn't suit me after all. Haha. =\

ST Forum Letter Satire

I refer to the articles 'Teach students the dos and don'ts of blogging' (ST Sept 29) and 'School act against students for 'flaming' teachers on blogs' (ST Sept 27).

Have we reached a blog-kage? It is a widely held axiom that citizens of a largely multiracial nation must strive to preserve racial harmony.

It is therefore imperative that seditious, racist remarks be barred from surfacing in public domains which can result in serious ramifications such as the jeopardy of our long preserved social cohesion.

Therefore in my opinion, it is absolutely justifiable that the trio who made inflammatory remarks in their blogs be hauled to the court.

More recently, some junior colleges meted out punishment to students who 'flamed' their teachers on the net.

The Singapore Teacher's Union offers backing to teachers who wish to take legal action against students who included diatribes in their blogs.

There was even a response in The Straits Times Forum which suggested that the do's and don'ts of blogging be taught in school.

Here are some alternatives which I can think of that one may wish to employ to ensure that our contents will not provoke any discontent.

We could install identification checks at blogging websites to prevent under-aged users from blogging.

After all, there is a great deal of responsibility involved in blogging, so we have to teach it in school.

If not, we can always impose our draconian tried and tested rating system of Gs, PGs and M18s on local blogs for the viewer's discretion.

A uniform set of blog contents and parameters can be imposed on our netizens through virtual laws to prevent them from venturing away from the circumscribed sphere of sanctioned topics.

We will then have effectively become blogger-citizens of the Stepford nation and disneyfied the virtual world in a way no other country has achieved. Kudos for showing the way!

With the thought of being sued for defamation for penning our thoughts too honestly on the net, the truncheon of authority that is wielded over our heads guarantees the curtailing of interesting contents, literary expressions and subjects which our young bloggers can concoct.

We will have succeeded in creating a newer, more banal species of blogs and bloggers. Andrew Sullivan, an essayist for Time magazine, has mentioned that blogging is 'serious inasmuch as it conveys real ideas and feelings in as unvarnished and honest a form as possible'.

We will have proven that Sullivan has made a fictitious point!

Let us all enthuse blogging and show the others the correct aptitude we should have for blogging.

Xu Hong Ming

Man, that's got to be one of the best forum letters I've seen in a while. XD Kudos to him.

Best part? This was actually published on Straits Times Online. XD

Amazing how foolish some editors can be. Oh well, they let this gem among useless letters come through, can't say they made a big mistake can I?

If anything this letter's the best mirror out there for the government and the Singapore blogosphere situation XD

I am that Boy

*Wanted to do this after seeing Packrat's (And his wife's) blog, but decided not to. Now ZQ and Mike've done it too, oh well >_>*

I am that boy who grew up in a screwed up way, and now you see him like this.

I am that boy whose feelings have turned into states, and into separate personalities.

I am that boy who persued his crush for 4 years, before giving up.

I am that boy who wrote a story to give the 'me' in my story a better life than myself, and lost all his writing to his com who's in Junkyardland. >_> The later 4-6k words at least.

I am that boy who has names for his personalities but doesn't know which is which.

I am that boy who used to fight everyday, until he no longer felt anything from fighting.

I am that boy who despises depression from competition, and never feels sad over losing.

I am that boy who will protect his best friends with his life if he had to, and also that boy who hopes his best friends know they are his best friends.

I am that boy who will never be able to let go of the past, and given his past side of himself a different name.

I am that boy who is always mistaken as depressed when he was thinking and as thinking when he was depressed.

I am that boy who has always been comforted when he didn't need it and never comforted when he needed it.

I am that boy who is both a loner, a tribes-person and a crowds-person, but cannot decide among the three.

I am that boy who treasures his friends, his comrades, and his siblings. In what order, he doesn't know.

I am that boy who would rather just see you happy without himself in the picture than see himself in the picture and compromise his friend's happiness.

I am that boy who is either mature or immature to someone, but never inbetween.

I am that boy who would spend one good day with each of his best friends than a year with everyone else.

I am that boy who dislikes the hip movement yet conforms to it somewhat as well.

I am that boy with an interest in something no one else bothers with, and a degree in it would get him nothing but respect while working in the $1.99 store.

I am that boy who places faith in all of his friends, and places loyalty in them too, and is thankful that it has been returned to him.

I am that boy who has immense trust in his friends, but constantly questions his friendships and is somewhat betrayed by his idealism in friendship.

I am that boy who is both immensely cynical and skeptical, yet also immensely optimistic about life.

I am that boy who wishes for many things to happen yet lacks the strength to make it happen.

I am that boy who always wishes to be loved by a special someone, but will never find who that someone is for a long time.

I am that boy who wishes to be himself, and will reject whoever refuses to let me be myself.

I am that boy who finds himself incapable of showing his true emotions, and regrets it.

I am that boy who never gets the chance to correct the mistakes he's done.

I am that boy who will never let go of his guilty conscience.

I am that boy who worries in paranoia about tomorrow, but doesn't do anything in the hopes that everything will work out.

I am that boy who knows exactly what he's good at and what he's not, but not that boy who knows that this will stay the same.

I am that boy who loves action and fun but secretly wishes for nothing but peace.

I am that boy who few understand because few get the chance to understand him.

I am that boy who talks about reality yet is obcessed with fantasy and escapism.

I am that boy who never shows when he needs friends, and almost never has them around when he needs them.

Who is that boy? Is it me? I know not. Perhaps it is, perhaps it is not.
